In 2022, Her Majesty The Queen will become the first British Monarch to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee, seventy years of service, having acceded to the throne on 6th February 1952 when Her Majesty was 25 years old. When is The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee?
Although the anniversary of the Queen’s coronation falls on February 6, the official celebrations always take place at the start of June. The Platinum Jubilee celebrations will begin on Thursday, June 2nd, and will continue over the weekend until June 5 2020.
The May Bank Holiday Weekend has been moved to Thursday 2 June and an additional Bank Holiday on Friday 3 June will see a four-day weekend to celebrate Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee – the first time any British monarch has reached this historic milestone of 70 years on the throne.
