Hairspray the Musical
Fans of the quirky film Hairspray should head to The National Theatre in May to see the campy musical live and onstage. You will sit on the edge of your seat as you follow the journey of a teen from Baltimore with big dreams, and even bigger hair, attempts to dance her way onto the nation’s most popular television show.  Keep an eye on the National’s schedule because other movie adaptations are on their way, including Aladdin, Beetlejuice and My Fair Lady.  Fri. Pick-Your-Own Strawberries
The DC area is teeming with u-pick farms and one of the most irresistible crops is the popular fruit, the strawberry. From mid-May to early June, fields are filled with fresh pick-off-the-vine treats. You don’t have to stray far from city limits to enjoy this completely rural adventure. Check out our guide to the DMV’s berry best u-pick farms. Fri.-Sun. Event details.

Family Workshop: Phillips Play
Join The Phillips Collection to investigate materials, methods, and ideas in art. During each 75-minute program, you will first look, wonder, and learn in the galleries with a museum educator. Then, in the studio, teaching artist Racquel Keller will guide families to create unique artwork inspired by the gallery exploration. Each session will focus on a different artwork and art technique. Sat. Event details.

Photo Cruise on the Potomac
