My Big List of Goals I’m Going to Accomplish in 2022 Week 29 of 52
Here’s my big list of things I want to accomplish in 2022:
Remodel The Kitchen
The electrician did not make it out last week but we’re hoping he is able to come out and see all that needs to be done soon. We did decide on a kitchen faucet though, so that’s good.
Sell Enough Rugs to Buy an AGA Stove DONE!!!
Well I did it!!! I finally hit my goal of selling enough of my 2022 hooked rugs and pillows in my Etsy shop to pay for my new Duck Egg Blue AGA cooker. HOW COOL IS THAT!? I’m so excited.
Now I think I need to start saving up for a “research trip” to England to find the perfect scone {so I can duplicate it in my new oven}. I think that’s a pretty smart “new goal”, don’t you?
Fill the Canning Cupboard
I didn’t can anything new this week to add to the cupboard but I think a batch of zucchini relish is up next and if I can get my hands on some Maine peaches…. maybe a batch of peach jam as well.
So far this year I have canned:
- Raspberry Blueberry Jam
- Carrot Cake Jam
- Strawberry Lemon Jam
- Blueberry Lime Jam
- Strawberry Jam
- Cinnamon Rhubarb Jam
- Pickled Asparagus
- Ginger Pear Jam
- Spiced Christmas Jam
- Cranberry Sauce
- Split Pea and Ham Soup
- Beef Stew
Not canned, but in jars:
Earn Enough Money Selling {?????} To Pay For Our 2022 Grocery Tab By The End Of The Year.
I’ve decided to wait until fall to list my beach finds.
Eat More Fruits and Vegetables.
More radishes, peas, zucchini and peppers were on the menu this week. I just love this time of year and all the delicious fresh vegetables it brings.
Keep The Crafts… In The Craft Room.
This past week was a bit of a struggle to keep the crafts out of the craft room. I needed the table for cutting and folding wool and also for pinning rugs. Hopefully by this afternoon I’ll have the table cleared again.
Tap Our 2 Maple Trees and Make Maple Syrup {DONE}
It was a good experience, and we’re going to do it again next year {although I would like to find a few more trees to tap so our yield is a bit higher}.
Make a Quilt Top
A big thanks to everyone who chimed in to tell me I would need 2,025 squares to make a 90″ x 90″ quilt. The good news is, I have plenty of “blue” squares {probably at least 2025!} to make 2 quilts. Whoops!
Now I just need to cut out the white squares and I’ll be set. I am leaning towards getting everything cut out and then shipping the squares and the backing fabric off to my friend Zoë who is a professional quilter. Yes, it would be totally cheating, but it would also be such a relief to have someone else {who actually likes quilting!} to make the quilt for me.
Be More Intentional With My Time
Sweet Lucy. She loves a good snuggle.
1 Craft / Blog Free Day {I’ve had 27 craft/blog free days this year so far.}
Yesterday I headed out the door to meet up with The Duck Lady and saw a sign for a barn sale and just had to stop. Check out this huge wicker basket/trunk I got for $5!
A total deal if you ask me. I have no idea what I’m going to use it for, but for $5 I just couldn’t leave it there.
Keep My Husband Busy
After 2 weeks of dry {and hot!} weather, it finally rained. A few days later the HH was able to mow for the first time in 10 days. Let’s just say, I’m so glad mowing isn’t my job. I think I’d lose my mind.
The HH’s Honey Do List {so far} for 2022
- Take over cooking {I’ll still do the baking and canning}
-
Cut down the cluster of trees in the backyardDONE - Build a new set of stairs down to the water.

My House Projects For This Year {so far}
I’ve been very busy lately with my rugs lately so I haven’t had much time to get any house projects done. But, I think I like the idea of a cordless white linen shade for the kitchen window.
I need to decide soon though because we need to take down the crappy blind that’s up there now so we can paint the trim.
Things I need to get done this year:
- Finish painting the outside of the house
- Finish painting the inside of the house
- Make something to hang above our new console table
- Make it look like people actually live here HA HA HA

The deer got to my beans. AGAIN. And ate off all the tops on my sunflowers {well, I think they left me 2 or 3}. Life down in the lasagna and religious family plots is tough. Maybe if they eat enough of the plants the HH will realize we in fact DO NEED FENCE down there.

Visit 12 Towns in Maine That I Haven’t Been to Before
Last week we visited the town of Alna, Maine and found a beautiful lavender farm. Word on the street is that the general store in town is getting a makeover and so we’re hoping it will be up and running when we head back out to the farm in the fall so we can stop by and check it out.
So far we’ve visited:
How about YOU? How did you do with working towards your goals for 2022?
