Dezeens Christmas gift guide 2019: interior designers
A David Chipperfield-designed candle and a one-handed watch are among our selection of 15 gifts for interior designers this holiday season.
Holocene N0.2 by David Chipperfield
Architect David Chipperfield designed this brass oil lamp, featuring two curved edges that partially obscure the flame, for Swedish lighting brand Wstberg.
The lamp forms part of the company's Holocene collection, which takes its name from the geological epoch. The era provided Wstberg with the idea to create a fire-based lighting series.
Curva magazine holder by AYTM
Curva magazine holder by home interiors and furniture company AYTM offers a sleek way to store magazines.
Available from Wallpaper Store, the rack comprises undulating metallic slats that create three pockets for holding books. The slender gaps between the slats can keep magazines in the other direction.
Industry Candlesticks by Matthew Hilton
British designer Matthew Hilton cut large indents into metal candlesticks to make them sculptural ornaments for a dining table.
Designed for Case Furniture, the candlesticks are milled from either a solid billet of brass or stainless steel. The metal is left unfinished to give it a raw aesthetic.
Get Lit Duo by Malin + Goetz
This kit by skincare and fragrance brand Malin + Goetz has become the go-to accessory for design-focused hotels.
The set comprises a bergamot-scented hand and body wash, and a body lotion infused with vitamin B5.
Nude Malt collection by Mikko Laakkonen
Whisky connoisseurs will enjoy this minimal glass drinking set by Finish designer Mikko Laakkonen.
Lead-free crystal is used to form the bulbous shapes of the series, which includes two bottles, whisky glasses, bowls and an accompanying black wooden tray.
Stationery by Papier
This stationery set by Papier, which includes notebooks, diaries, notecards and writing paper, provides plenty of options for stocking fillers. The designs can also be personalised to add an additional touch.
Poise Hand Mirror Black by Ferm Living
This circular hand mirror has a powder-coated brass with a matte-black frame and handle, which is shaped in a loop so that it can be mounted on a wall.
Punkt Alarm Clock by Jasper Morrison
Designer Jasper Morrison teamed up with Swiss technology brandPunkt to create this alarm clock so it could be used in place of mobile phones, and help reduce technology in the bedroom.
The L-shaped clock is turned on and off by a twisting circular button on its back. Pressing it prompts it to snooze.
Sin Pistols by Sancal
Break all the rules with the Sin Pistols, which Sancal says is "neither a bag or a backpack, just both of them at the same".
A pair of straps loop over the wearer's head and shoulders to leave two pockets to rest just underneath the armpits. The holders are the right size for small items, like keys, a mobile phone and sunglasses.
One Collection by Simpl Watch
Bangkok brand Simpl Watch's One collection of watches tell the time with only one hand.
The slender needle tapers to a point at one end to indicate the hour. A series of smaller markers in between each hour point then mark the following hour in five minute chunks.
Fold Roll Backpack by Utility Archive
The simple exterior of this roll-top backpack hides a number of features including pockets sized for an OS map, guidebook or bottle, and another for a laptop.
Utility Archive, the brand behind the design, has made the bag from 100 per cent recycled materials.
Fine Art America
This framed print of the 1930s Leslie Hotel in Miami, featuring bright bold hues typical to the city's Art Deco style, is one of the main prints available from Fine Art America.

The handmade set come in a range of tones, including grey, pink and green, to suit a range of interior decor.
Checked Wool Scarf by Arket
This oversized, patterned scarf with fringe detailing provides the ideal addition to warm up a winter wardrobe. The garment was woven in an Italian mill, and includes a mix of soft wool with some nylon.
Checked Wool Scarf is produced by lifestyle brand Arket, which is an offshoot of fashion brand H&M.
