Kim Kennington, a school counselor at Farr West Elementary in Farr West, Weber County, uses a pool noodle with a scarf tied to it to wave to students and their parents as they drive past the school on the last day of classes on Friday. In year’s past, teachers at the school would mark the last day of school by lining the bus parking lot and wave scarves in the air to say goodbye to students. But this year, due to the spread of COVID-19, the teachers had to come up with another plan, hence Friday’s parade.
