Past Fall Favorites

Jacket: Aritizia (not recent, but this one is similar) | Pants: La Grace

The other day, I was looking through my past fall outfits and after documenting for over ten years, there’s quite a few of them. My style has definitely shifted throughout the years, as to be expected as we get older and our lives change. But the biggest shift that I noticed is how much less I’ve documented wearing heels – 5 inchers nonetheless.

Now I know this is for several reasons:

To start, I am a mom of two and my fashion choices reflect that… most of the time. I still love a heel, but now, I enjoy putting outfits together that are comfortable, yet wearable.

Secondly, eight years ago, I may have picked an outfit that I thought was what I called “blog worthy” which often revolved around a higher heel, which sounds silly when I read that back. In the past, I’d wish that I went about things a little differently (less blog focused outfits and more every day), but I don’t. It’s been an evolution that’s been part of my process. I actually did wear heels that often! I’d take the train in my flats and be that girl, on a street corner, changing from my commuter flats to heels. To me, that was FASHION.

Last but certainly not least, 2020 was the year that the world changed forever. The year of pure casualness, loungewear, athleisure, whatever you want to call it. I was most certainly part of that shift and admittedly and sort of happily, it’s still lingering around. My life has changed, the world has changed and it’s been kind of nice being able to be comfortable, while still putting effort into putting an outfit together.

With that said, here are some outfits from last year. I’ve tried to link whatever was available or something that looked similar. They’re not all casual, but way more than I’ve had in previous years.
